My name is Erin, and I’m pursuing a PhD in philosophy and a JD. The blonde dog is mine, Freja, and the Belgian Malinois is Hazel, Freja’s best friend. We live on the East Coast. Beyond studying, I spend a lot of time running long distances, training Freja (officially she does nosework, rally-o, obedience, and agility). I’m a vegan and I like cooking but I’m still learning how to bake without eggs. I love reading things, philosophical and otherwise, and I have recently had to set aside my oboe, which I used to play an obscene amount but can no longer properly keep up with. Marlena, the brave Romanian bunny pictured below, lived with me briefly in Leuven, and is now settled with the love her life (not the watermelon rind) in Paris.
For posterity, my initial “Introductions” page:
Hello! My name is Erin, and I am the author of this blog and scratch post to this adorable kitten. I found her in a museum in Bucharest.
Bucharest is also where I ‘rescued’ Marlena Brandova, the diva bunny posing below. She now has her own EU passport, and lives the charmed life in the low countries.
I don’t have a home and I think probably more than is healthy, usually about useless things. I try to do philosophy, and end up feeling terribly unsure of myself and the world.
The header photo of this blog is in Bran, Transylvania, Romania.*
*alas, no longer. it’s from my return flight to the US. beautiful and sad.
